QUESTION: Anna, how did you feel after winning the first set in the tiebreaker? A lot of times someone wins the first set, second set things tend to be a little bit easier. How were you feeling after the first set?

KOURNIKOVA: I was feeling good. I was up 3-1 and then I just made a couple of unforced errors and things started rolling the other way, and I think at the end I just got a bit tired and I wasn't as patient as I was in the beginning of the match.

QUESTION: Was she doing anything in particular?

KOURNIKOVA: She just didn't make any mistakes. She was just bringing the ball back and moving me around.

QUESTION: Anna, how disappointing is it right now? You got to the finals of this event last year, and to get knocked out this early, it must be pretty disappointing for you.

KOURNIKOVA: Yeah. Every loss is disappointing, so yeah, but like I said, I think I got a bit tired in the end of the match and I wasn't as patient, so I'm going to rest a little bit and get ready for the next tournament.

QUESTION: Was it the heat? Did that take something out of you? Is that why you got tired or just being out there so long?

KOURNIKOVA: Yeah. I think both. The first set took a lot out of me also.

QUESTION: Is lack of patience do you think the cause of the many unforced errors you had today?

KOURNIKOVA: I think that I wasn't patient because I got tired.

QUESTION: Tired more so than lack of patience?

KOURNIKOVA: Well, I wasn't patient because I was tired. To be patient you have to be fresh.

QUESTION: Anna, you've obviously accomplished a lot in tennis so far, however, if you do not accomplish the top five or do not win a major, how do you think you would look back on your career?

KOURNIKOVA: I just started and I have maybe ten years more. I mean probably. I think I'll accomplish something.

QUESTION: How is it going so far this year for you? This tournament aside, how do you feel your game is going this year?

KOURNIKOVA: I think this year has been great for me. I had the best start of this season. I was two times in the semifinals and four or something times in the quarters and I won a lot of matches, and I've been traveling a lot, so it's very, very busy schedule, so I'm looking forward to the European tournaments and I'll continue doing that.

QUESTION: Will you take a little bit of time off now?

KOURNIKOVA: I have to play Fed Cup next week.
